Sophia was so excited all day and could not wait for the baby pigs to arrive! It has been years since we had pigs on the farm, as Mom got tired to them always getting out and running thru her yard and down the road...(although funny to watch...chasing pigs is NOT a job at the top of any of our lists, as they NEVER go where you want them to)
The pig pen needed strawed up, the pigs needed fed and watered and Sophia and Victoria decided all the pigs needed names, so everyone was very busy for about 2 hours getting our "new additions" all settled in. The kids used 5 gallon buckets to haul straw from under the barn into the pig pen, Gabe and Sophia, unloaded the buckets, while Sam, Victoria and Bubba filled and carried them.
Although doing farm chores it not always fun, when you have a bunch of kids around to help it can have its perks! Ben and I remember having neighborhood kids coming over to play and help do chores, and I am glad that our kids will get to have the same memories, plus Victoria and Bubba are used to doing outside chores as they have horses to care and feed at their own farm.
