we have been having Sundays like these for months now...and it will be hard to try to get back into a regular "routine" but we MUST soon...what I mean is that with Sunday being our one and only day off per week, we have gotten lazy, and no longer set our alarm to ensure we get up in time for church, and therefore we have not made it into church in months, and we also have gotten spoiled by having Sunday breakfast out before doing the errands that we normally would do on a Sunday. We MUST change ourselves!
Today, after returning from our "brunch" as the kids like to call it because we ate at around 10:30, we decided to go ahead and take down the tree and holiday decorations, and vaccuumed up all those nasty pine needles from my carpet! We purchased a few items at Lowes today so that we can change out of our dirty barn clothes out on the back porch versus inside, I can't stand hay and straw dirt adn mud all over my floor!
I am trying yet again to bake a cake in my oven, because Tony brought home beautiful strawberries from the market and they would be great on top of a cake! I made muffins in it yesturday and it take take about 10 minutes longer than the recipe said, so hopefully the cake will be OK too...I know we will have to break down and buy a new one soon, we looked today at after Christmas sales but I would like to have one similar to what I have now and they are running like $500...would love to find one that is missing its box or has a scratch on it or something, so that it would be a bit cheaper!
We are all getting a cold or something, the kids have been having that dry hacking cough all day, Gabe's one eye is weeping slightly, and Tony and I just feel tired...if things don't improve by early next week we will be making appointments to see the doctor as we have to be better for our upcoming trip!
Mom walked over and visited with us for a bit. She has been walking more because of her diabetes, it is good for her and with the meds she has been taking it seems like she has things under control.
