Sophia has a very active imagination...quite different from her brother who has trouble playing make believe (Tony says he gets that from me)...anyway in the past few days Sophia has made a "new" friend whose name is "Woody Door" we call her "Woodie" for short. Woody lives on Markertown Rd (a combination of Marker Rd where we farm and Middletown where we live). Woody's phone number is 123-456 and they talk on the phone all. the. time. Grandma took her along up to the Boyd's Bear Factory in Gettysburg on Saturday and we were all placing bets on how many bears Sophia would end up coming home with...it ended up being 3, one for her, one for Gabe, and one for Woody! Woody apparently spends the night every night, and she simply rides her bike over to our house from her house on Markertown Rd. The other day while driving thru Middletown Sophia showed me where Woody lives and wanted me to stop in to visit and I told her it wasn't polite to come "unannounced" to someone's house, that I would need to call Woody's mom to set-up a play date...I wonder how long this will continue??
Other times that Sophia's imagination has "run wild" was a few months back when she would tell us this story over and over again about a little boy that got lost in the woods, because he did not listen to his Mommy and wouldn't hold her hand. We are thinking that was a combination of the Hansel and Gretel story and the fact that Grandma drills into her head about having to hold hands when they go anywhere together.
Also she was transfixed on Grandma's missing fan back in June. Grandma told her someone must have stolen her fan from their summer house at "THE WOODS" over in West Virginia. So Sophia offered to share her room fan with Grandma and would tell anyone she met that someone stole Grandmas fan and was up in the Woods...too funny!
