Valentine's Day and Snow Day too!

Happy Valentine's Day...it is basically just another day around here, with the freezing rain and snow Tony was up half the night wondering what we were going to do about the route trucks today, finally at around 7:30 he made the decision to call off the routes and we will run the reat of the week one day late. He put a note on teh website as well as on the 24 voicemail system so hopefully this will be clear enough to those who are wondering where there delivery is...

I cooked Valentine's Day dinner on Monday night, knowing that normally Wednesday nights can be late and tiring for Tony. We had terraki Salmon, baked scallops, mixed lentils and steamed veggies. We did not exchange gifts this year mostly because we just came back from our FABULOUS vacation and felt that was certainly enough for awhile!
Our school system did not cancel classes yesturday like many of the other counties near to us, I think they knew today was going to be a definite snow day and decided not to waste a so-so day for a cancellation...and I was totally OK with it...today is definitely a SNOW DAY. The roads around here are finally cleared at 3:30 in the afternoon, it is still very slick around the house and creamery, and at this point in time Tony and the guys are pulling the delivery trucks out from around the buildings so that our skid loaders and excavating equipment can move the snow and ice, so that hopefully tomorrow no one will fall down when loading their trucks.
We went to lunch at mom's today and afterwards the whole crew decided to go sledding. We started out over on the hills around the pond...

but the BIG kids got board with that and decided they needed to sled down the hill in the "dry cow" field. I rode along to take pictures but was in no way sledding down THAT hill and I would not let Gabe do it either. Ben, Ronnie, Chris and Tony did it and then one of them that did not go down would take a 4X4 truck down to gather them all up from the bottom. The wind was blowing fierce and Gabe and I stayed inside the truck watching...

We don't have to travel far to have BIG hills to sled on!!
