We were up at 4:00 am this morning to get ready, get the kids loaded in the car and head down to Dulles International Airport. Our flight leaves at 8:45 and we should be in sunny Florida by mid-day!
Once we arrive at the airport and check-in our bags that will be the last time we will have to haul them anywhere until we return home, yeah!! We purchased the Disney Magic pass which will "magically" bring all your luggage from the airport to the hotel, from the hotel to the port, so that is one less thing we will have to think about!
The flight was very nice, they provided XM Satelitte Radio which the kids really LOVED and besides our ears hurting on the landing it was quite a smooth ride. Once in Orlando we met up with the Disney Cruise Line Bus that would take us to Animal Kingdom Lodge. We arrive to the Lodge around 12:30 and are able to check into our rooms and are told we are being given one of the best Savannah rooms they have to offer, we are very excited at this point and head back to see for ourselves!

The room was quite nice and the view off the balcony even BETTER, we had giraffes and zebras consistantly right outside to watch, it was AMAZING! I really enjoyed the African themed room and menu's at the restaurants too. NOT everything was African, the kids were still able to get chicken nuggets or pizza, but they had some different offerings as well that Tony and I were able to try to get into the whole "feel" of the resort!
Tony decided we needed to all take naps before we would head out to the parks later in the afternoon, the kids were a bit against it at first but eventually every
one DID nap and we woke around 4:00 pm feeling refreshed and ready to have some fun!
This first partial day was spent at Magic Kingdom, we ended up visiting about 2 of the lands and watching the fireworks show (which by the way is FABULOUS!) and parade!
