Magic Kingdom....

Tony says you are not offically in Disney World until you have seen the castle, I guess that is why they say most tourists when traveling to Disney World go to Magic Kingdom first, all the guide books suggest going to one of the other parks on your first day to avoid crowds, well he was having none of that so off we went...

We have never actually arrived BEFORE they offically opened, but this time we got there just in time, the opening show was really neat all the characters standing up at the train station and then the train arrives with all the Disney characters from "Toontown." It really gets you into the spirit!

The next thing we encountered was a parade, right down Main Street, USA...I tell you Disney knows how to put on some great shows!

We pretty much went from town to town doing all the rides that Gabe could ride, did a few rides for Sophia and just basically took our time taking it all in. For me it is almost like "coming home" going back to these parks, this was the place that Tony and I went while we were dating, it is just "special" to be able to return here year after year and remember all those things we did together back then and now share them with our children.

We took the kids to Tom Sawyer Island and they had a ball running around, searching thru the caves and mines...Tony did not even think the attraction was still around anymore, but it was, but now I need to try to rent the movie so Gabe knows who Tom Sawyer really is so many of the older attractions are still around but many children would not be familiar with the storyline.

We ate lunch at the same place we always do in Tomorrowland, the food can start to get old in the parks the same stuff over and over again but for the most part we would snack all day and then look forward to a nice dinner once we got back to the resort!

Gabe enjoyed the pin trading very much, we of course bought both kids a laynard and 7 pins to start their collection, Sophia however had a melt-down any time the thought of parting with any of her pins came into play so at night we would take pins off hers and put on Gabe's so that he could play the game and she did not even notice they were gone!

The kids also had plenty of opportunities to get their picture with any character that happened to be walking our way. The lines going this time of year are hardly anything at all which makes for a less stressful day!

Right before dinnertime we headed home to rest and have a relaxing evening at the resort. The kids and Tony checked out the pool and waterslide and I headed for the bar and the hot tub...what a magical ending to a magical day in Magic Kingdom!
