They wouldn't go home!!

All day long, Tony and I had been dreading doing this HUGE tour that was coming up from Silver Spring at 2:30 this afternoon. Normally this wouldn't be such a big deal, but because I am short a store clerk and Tony was gone all day yesturday and the fact that mom and dad are away, we really did not need to/or have the time to do this tour.

At about 2:30 when the tour was supposed to arrive I get a call from the second bus saying they broke down on 270 just 6 miles outside of Frederick and that as soon as the first bus dropped of the kids it would need to come back down and rescue them. So at this point things were actually going to work out better than we thought because at first Tony was going to try to conduct a tour of 86 people alone!

By the time the second bus arrived with the other half of the group Tony was pretty much done with his tour and was able to assist with the dipping of the ice cream cones while I started the tour for the second group. At about 4:45 when both groups were supposed to be boarding their buses to go home we were informed that the bus that broke down had to be taken back to dispatch in Silver Spring and another bus would be coming but not until 6:00...so now we had to figure out what to do with these 40 stranded people for another hour...so Tony went and got a hayride together and we hauled them up thru the field in the dark. When we got back to the farm at 6:00 pm the bus was waiting but now all the kids decided they needed to use the bathroom, so I think we got thru all of that and it was like 6:30 till they FINALLY pulled out to go home. These people definitely had a tour to remember...they even gave Tony a tip before they loaded the bus.

Thank goodness I put a roast in my crock pot so dinner was waiting when we came home! I am exhausted!
