Wednesday's are Volunteer Days...

Wednesdays have become quite the busy day for me, as I now volunteer in Gabe's classroom from 9:00 - 11:30. Gabe really enjoys it because he doesn't have to ride the bus, and I am enjoying it because I get to see first hand what goes on in the classroom, I am learning more about his teacher, I am watching the children interact with one another and getting to know all their names, and I get to see some of my teachers again! I took some pictures too...and Gabe seems to have a "girlfriend"...even though he won't admit it, her name is Elaine! Gabe also has a classmate from Russia who has CP and gets around in a walker, she is a "ray of sunshine" very friendly and outgoing, it doesn't seem to bother her that she is different, it will be great for the children to recognize that she can do everything they can do.

This week I helped in small group reading as well as did some administrative type work for the teacher. I also help in the library during their library time.

The kids and I went to visit Grandma Sowers, she had her Gall Bladder surgery on Tuesday, she looks good but is having a bit of trouble today keeping foods down. She had planned ahead and made a HUGE pot of vegetable soup so that Pappy would have something to eat while she was recovering. While we visited Heidi was there, along with Aunt Sherry.

On Wednesday evenings we go to church for dinner and bible study. Tony and I are taking a marriage class, that is helping to build our marriage stronger as we learn more about what the Lord wants marriage to look like. There are 8 of us in the class (4 couples) and it is quite intimate as we share with the group things that have changed in our marriage over the years. The kids go to their own classes, however Sophia has decided that she did not like her "nursery" class, she wanted to be with Gabe, so we asked permission for her to be moved up into the pre-k class, so she actually sings, does a craft, and learns a lesson, whereas inthe nursery class she just played with toys and watched movies. The pre-k teacher said she is doing fine, so I guess that solves that.

Tony and I also found out that the TCBY in Frederick has closed, and that was the place that we had our first date and our first kiss. So now both of the places in Frederick that are special to us (Kenny Rogers Roasters and now TCBY) no longer exist...of course the buildings will remain, but the stores are no longer there...very sad. In fact on our 9th anniversary that we celebrated back in August we stopped there after dinner for dessert, and I think that was the last time we were there and now it is no more...:(
