I get to go all over again...

How many people get a chance to go back to their elementary school again as a parent? I am one of the lucky ones, as I attended Myersville ES many years ago, and now I am a parent volunteer for Gabriel's classroom!!

Tonight when I attended the orientation, I got to see again many of the same teachers that were teaching there when I came thru. In fact, many of them recognized my face but could not believe that I had children old enough already to be attending!! It was like taking a trip down memory lane, as we all sat in the media center (the library when I was in school, and I spent soo many hours in that very room, helping my own mother put books away or watching videos)...so many fond memories!!

They have since built a brand new addition off the back for the art teacher (who was there when I came thru) and the 5th graders. We also have our very own room to do the jobs assigned to us by the teachers. The computer lab is just amazing with all new equipment which even Gabriel will have the privilge to use once per week.

Sometimes change is not always easy, and as I walked thru the halls again and looked at someof the older photos of teachers who are no longer there I had such bittersweet feelings of time gone by and new things to come, not only with Gabriel, but also with Sophia...so not only did I spend my first 6 years of school life in this very building, but now I get to experience it all over again for another 9 years with my own children....how wonderful is that??!!
