October in review...

If I look back at previous years, these fall months are always very tough as far as keeping this blog updated, this is our "busy time" and we hardly spend anytime at home except to eat dinner and sleep...

We went to the Renaissance Fair with Jon, Michelle, Lizzy and Katelynn. We have not been in many years and thought it would be fun, but honestly it was quite a disappointment as the place was PACKED, you could hardly move around and it was way too HOT to enjoy any of the festivities. I guess the only thing good about it was the fact that Tony got the tickets for next to nothing from a friend at the Baltimore farmers market.

The second week Tony's parents were in town for a brief visit. We all had a really nice time just enjoying each others company. Dad and I drank wine together, and the guys played chess and did lots of goofing off. We spent our last day together at the pumpkin patch and corn maze in Frederick. As always our time together was too short, but are looking forward to seeing them again at Christmastime.

The third weekend brought us to our Fall Harvest Celebration, which I think was our biggest yet! The weather was absolutley gorgeous and we had at least a thousand in attendance, we actually ran out of parking in our normal lot and had to use one of the crop fields for overrun. The best part for me is all the old frineds that I get to see. This festival brought in 2 high school friends that I have not seen since 1995 when I graduated, it was soo wonderful to have a chance to catch-up and see their children.

Just like me, when I was little, Sophia has a liking for the kittens here at the farm. Pretty much just like me, adopting one from each and every litter. This one is Rosie. Tony won't let her bring it home it has to stay at Nana's house and we can just visit...

We FINALLY got around to carving pumpkins, we had been promising the kids since Saturday night that we would do it and everynight we would get home late and were tired and just kept putting it off, well Gabe wasn't feeling very good and he really wanted to carve them so we did, and I think they turned out well! We call this our "snowman pumpkin"!
