"Potty" Talk...

Before we headed out on our vacation this year we were very happy that Sophia was using the bathroom on her own. While packing the van we even brought along some large coffee cans just in case she would need to use them in between stops (and she did)...needless to say we still had some "misses" that I find too amusing NOT to write down...

On our first night in Gatlinburg we decided to play mini-golf (one of the many times we did in the course of the week). It was called "Hillbillie Golf" and you rode a tram 300 feet up into the mountain to play...there was no bathroom up on the mountain so we made sure to ask if anyone needed to go before we went up...of course everyone was fine...until we get to hole #4, where Sophia announces that she has to go, there was nothing we could do, she was wearing a sun dress, there were lots of rocks, she just stood there and peed, even though her panties are now wet, she could care less and keeps playing...over the course of the week I think she peed at every mini-golf course we went too...Tony jokingly says this is the newest version of "easy access!"

On the way home we stopped off at a McDonalds to let the kids burn off some energy on the gym, and Sophia starts screaming and we go running to see what the problem is...the other children playing in the gym are scrambling to get away...we soon find out she has pooped inside the tubes way up high...so I go and tell the staff up front and proceed to get a "to go" bag and napkins and attempt to climb up and see what mess I have to clean-up...I get it all gathered up and the staff arrives to disinfect the tube...all is now fine. The part that amazes me the most is the fact that NOT one single parent removed their child from playing on the gym and the other parents instead of gossiping nastily about Sophia making a mess, were actually quite sympathic...it must be the "southern way of thinking" versus how it is around home...
