Tuesday we spent the day at "Wonderworks" basically a science center of sorts that was very interesting and both kids really enjoyed themselves...we pretty much played mini golf every day too!
Wednesday we decided to head out into the mountains for a little hiking as the kids really enjoyed hiking last summer when we visited the Poconos. We saw black bears, deer and even a SNAKE that I made Tony remove before I would hike any further!
Most evenings we would take the trolley into downtown Gatlinburg (this is their version of public transportation) it cost $.50 per person to ride and it was easier than driving yourself and trying to find parking.
Thursday, Tony awoke feeling very achy and tired, so the kids and I hung out around the water park most of the day, by evening he still wasn't feeling good and seemed to have a fever, so Friday morning when he awoke not feeling any better I made the decision to check-out early and come home. We arrived home by 7:00 pm Friday evening and I made him an appointment to see the doctor first thing Saturday morning...Tony had gotten strep throat, so it was good we decided to come home!
Even though the trip was not as relaxing as we would have hoped we did get a short break from all the activity here back home...Tony is already busy planning our next getaway in January!
