Comparing notes...

While at the picnic this afternoon, my cousin Jennifer and I were taking about our 2 girls and comparing notes. Jennifer is about 6 years older than I and our dads like to remind us of how "difficult" we were to raise and thus saying our little girls are our "proper punishment!" Teagan is in Kindergarten and of course Sophia is 2 going on 12! Apparently, both girls know how to put on a "show" when they don't get what they want, and both have very powerful lungs and are not afraid to use them to their advantage!

Sophia is still going thru "terrible twos" and I was hoping for some reprieve in the next few years and Jennifer just laughed at me and said things only get worse, Teagan not only now still throws tantrums and screams but now slams doors and says hateful things too! Sophia throws herself onto the floor and if you ignore her and walk away she will chase after you like a mad hornet and throw herself on the floor where ever you go, and if you try to put her in her room she will slam open the door and come back out and the longer you ignore her and louder and longer it seems to continue...

You never know when you will do something that is not up to "par"...like for example in the mornings getting ready to leave for work and school in the morning things could be going along great and then all of a sudden I put toothpaste on the wrong toothbrush and everything just falls apart! Gabe is usually awakened by the screaming of his sister as his morning alarm clock, it is kindof a running joke with him and I cause he will get up and ask me what is wrong with her this time?

I have been lucky thus far to not have too many gray hairs on my head but I think they will certainly be coming soon...parenting can be very difficult at times...it is important to focus on the good times to help move thru the troubled spots...
