Happy Easter!

Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!
Earth and heaven in chorus say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply, Alleluia!

This is one of my absolute favorite hymns of the Easter season. The true reason we all celebrate this day, it certainly is not because of some Bunny that supposedly delivers candy! The weather was not real cooperative today for any early morning service, usually you would visualise a cool spring-like morning watching the sun rise across the horizon...today it was down-right wintry and cold...there was even some snow flurries in the air! The weather certainly did not dampen the spirit inside our church, the flowers were beautiful as was the message and songs!

After the kids found the hidden eggs and opened their small gifts we had breakfast and headed out to church and then onto Grandma's for lunch. Mykenzie organized an outside egg hunt which the kids just LOVED but was just too darn cold outside to play too long...
Since Granddaddy was recovering from being in and out of the hospital in March when we were planning on celebrating his birthday we celebrated today...
Easter dinner was much different this year, with the extened family helping to make it all come together, Grandma is still not feeling well from having her ear drum break and she is not sleeping well and was very not herself today. The food was delicious and the time together as a family was priceless, and I am soo blessed to have them both still in my life, what wonderful memories we get to make together, how they have helped to shape my life and the lives of my children, extended family is so important not just on special days like today but all year round to help you thru the good times and bad.

As always the kids come out with way too much candy to bring home...I guess we will have plenty of snacks at the creamery!
