Yeah you read that right we are back to living in the MUD!! And according to the weather it looks like we are in for some more of the gushy brown stuff for a few more days (1-2 inches of rain tonight). My poor van is going to get stuck behind the house AGAIN!!
In other news my brother and his family FINALLY got moved in next door, and the kids have already started to take advantage of being so close to one another, like last night after chores were done Gabe went home with Kate and the kids and watched movies until I got done my work at the creamery. Ben is able to eat lunch at home now too, which should allow him to spend more time with Sam and Blue. Vinnie is enjoying his 2 new "brothers" Jasper and Kimmel (Golden Retriever and Great Pyrenees) in fact I don't think he has spent much time here at home since they arrived and they howl and bark all night (we are hoping this will stop in a few days!)
We have had a very busy week around here, with Monday being the day Tony FINALLY made himself a doctors appointment and found out that he does indeed have Bronchitis, but did he take any time off to rest...NO!!
Tuesday, I got to spend most of the day with my Dad as we decided to run the delivery route in DC so Tony could at least stay around close to home. One thing I did not know about my Dad was that he had never been in DC to see any of the sites in person, so this was the first time he was seeing the Capitol building and the Monument, and we get very close to these places when we are making the deliveries! Once we actually got into DC, the GPS lead the way and we were able to make 40 some deliveries in about 3 hours!! I don't get to spend alot of one-on-one time with Daddy so I really enjoyed our time together!
Wednesday I spent the entire day doing the billing as my billing clerk was off sick with the stomach flu (she has been with us almost 2 years and this is the first day she ever missed!), it took me from 8:00 in the morning to just after 6:00 at night to get it all done and that was even having 2 other people help me get the routes in order, I was soo DONE with the billing after that, I hope she doesn't miss another day for a really long time!! Now that we deliver to almost 2000 homes that equates to about 400 invoices a day and that is alot of paperwork!!
We did hire a new customer service person to help in the office and she is doing a good job but the first week is always tough anyway but with me being on the truck one day and my actual store clerk calling off on Monday, she quickly had to learn the ropes alot on her own, but she really is trying hard and has a great work ethic and I am hoping she stays around for awhile. I actually tried to let her run the deposit all by herself and it took her 3 hours, I finally stepped in once I could see she was getting frustrated, she will be fine, but the first time it can be overwhelming when you have 100 checks to reconcile!
I have been having trouble with my back lately and have been taking some of Tony's muscle relaxers to help me sleep at night, not quite sure what I did to it but I hope it goes away soon!
