We had a small snow storm yesturday afternoon, the weather got frigid cold, the wind was blowing and the snowflakes were HUGE, so I knew it was not going to amount to much, but it did make things pretty and white. The kids wanted to go out and play in it and I was not about to get us all bundled up to try to play in a 1/4 inch of snow, so they watched it from inside and asked me to make Hot Chocolate for them....
Even though we have chocolate milk at the creamery that I could have simply warmed in the microwave, I decided to make it from scratch, from atop the stove and I added candy canes to it as well, I don't think the kids were very impressed with the peppermint flavor, but Sophia had lots and lots of marshmellows in hers. She says you can't have hot chocolate if you don't have marshmellows!
What was REALLY strange was the fact that Gabe wanted to clean out and organize my tupperware cupboard (which I agree is always a complete disaster area), so he and Sophia matched lids and bottoms and then stacked everything neatly back in the cabinet, I was impressed (typically Gabe will not help out with any chores around the house without moaning and complaining) I guess since he thought of this himself it wasn't really chores, right?
Updates on my Granddaddy, he got to come home yesturday, after they ran tests on him at FMH, and then they ran the same tests on him at Washington Hospital Center, they both came back inconclusive, Grandma had, had quite enough and insisted they either bring him back to FMH or let him go home she was done with staying overnight in Washington and fooling around with what she says was conplete and total disorganization. So he arrived home around 5:00 pm yesturday afternoon, he is being treated for diabetes and they are still closely watching his kidney function, and they simply don't know why his heart is not beating correctly. This hospital in Washington was supposed to be experts in heart conditions yet they found the same results has FMH did and had no answers, it seems to me Granddaddy's condition should have ben easily diagnosed since they are experts in their field, the more I watch my grandparents go in and out of doctors appointments and hospitals the more leary I have become of our medical system as a whole, it seems to me the doctors are more concerned about how much money they can "drain" from their patients' wallets than actually solving their problem!
