Fun Day down on the Farm...

We sure have been blessed with some mild and beautiful weather for this time of year! Not complaining one bit, it is not warm enough for bugs to be out bothering you, and not cold enough to have to bundle up in layers to play outdoors. Since my grandparents are on their way to Florida I have no sitter for the next week, so Mom has been coming over to the creamery after she gets back up from the morning milking and has been taking Sophia with her to do some outside chores, and Sophia has been having a ball getting to wear her "oots"! As you can tell she just LOVES to find and STOMP in each and every mud puddle!

My sister-in-law Kate has a horse named Stetson, and Sophia has been riding the horse bareback the last couple of nights but I never had my camera with me to take photos, I did manage to get this one tonight before the light got too bad. I was always scared of horses growing-up, having her ride makes me nervous, but it would be neat if she truely learned to ride!

After all the evening chores were done we remembered that the kids have not had a chance to play in the HUGE pile of cottonseed that we have up in the barn to feed the cows with all winter. Playing in this is much better than any snow could ever be! You can climb in it, jump off of it, dig into it and makes forts, throw it at each other...basically we have a kids wonderland out of nothing more than cattle feed...how cool is that! While the kids were busy playing in there, Kate and I had a chance to chat and catch-up on all the family happenings...it will be nice once they are finally moved in next door and the kids can play together more than just in the evenings. I can't think of a better place for the kids to grow up than being all together here on this land, it is an unlimited source of fun and knowledge and memories to last a lifetime!
