For being the 2nd day of the New Year and the supposedly "slow time" of year for the creamery, it sure was a busy, hectic day! Gabe went back to school, 3 employees called in sick (for one this was her first day of work, we will give her until tomorrow, if she is a no show again she will get the boot), and the phones rang off the hook all. day. I guess it was good that I was able to do some of my year-end reports yesturday since today was spent working thru the deposit.
I was a bit disappointed that the mail was not running again today, if the goverment keeps it up the banks and post offices will never be open, all the holidays are getting a bit ridiculous! How can you conduct business when the mail doesn't come and you can't take your deposits to the bank?
I am having some trouble with my eyes again, it is not quite the same problem from before, but my right eye is "twitching" and it feels at times that there is something sticky on my eye lashes and it won't quite open all the way, so I have been wearing my glasses more and I just don't see as well with them.
The kids are getting super excited about our upcoming trip, my aunt and grandparents leave tomorrow on the auto-train to Florida because my aunt is running in the Disney Marathon this upcoming Sunday. My grandparents love Florida and always said they wanted to move there for the winter and never have so I know they are looking forward to some warmer weather for a few days. The kids both were quite upset knowing that we will not get to see them for about 3 weeks because they are gone for a week and then we leave for a week and we just miss each other by 2 days!!
In other news Ben and Kate drove out to western Ohio to pick up an 1800's grain thrasher that Dad bought on eBay. The piece of equipment is amazing, it was kept inside a shed all these decades and it is exactly what I pictured from reading all those Laura Ingalls Wilder books from my childhood. My Dad would like to open a museum here on the farm one day and would display all his equipment there. My brother's good friend Bryant has been given the task to get all the old, antique tractors running again so slowly one piece at a time I see them moving from one shed to another...
On the cold front, Tony seems to be getting better and the kids and I thus far seem to be Ok as well, lets pray we can stay healthy for our trip!
