I have been in the mood for some good New England Clam Chowder and thanks to my friend Erin (who so kindly got me a subscription of Cooking Light Magazine) I found the perfect recipe and made a HUGE pot of Chowder...YUMMY!! With my family over, along with one of Ben's friends I think there was one serving left for my lunch today...will definitely be making that again!
After getting almost all of the house cleaned this morning, the kids and I headed out to run some errands in town and I HAD to stop at my favorite coffee house for some AWESOME brew...simply can't get enough these days and for only $.69 per cup you can't beat the price!! I also saw this delicious recipe online on another blog that I frequent often and I just had to make so we stopped off at the grocery store for some banannas.

In other news, we have been short 2 employees for over a week now...one that was fired and another that had to have surgery done on her foot. I have been keeping up to some extent this past week because my mom helped in the store and I have been putting my job on the back-burner so that I could keep up on the accounts receivable until someone else was hired. The new person is supposed to start Monday afternoon and my store clerk is supposed to be back the middle of next week. Mom and Dad leave tomorrow for their yearly trip to Virginia Beach, this year's trip will be slightly different as they are going in Dad's truck hauling a flatbed behind them and on Tuesday Tony, my brother, and my cousin will be taking a tractor trailer down to haul back up a bunch of new equipment we purchased to go into the plant.
The Fall Festival was last weekend and we had perfect weather for the 2 day event, and it seems like each and every time we organize these events it does seem to get a bit easier...we did actually have enough volunteers to cover all the stations and we figure we had a couple thousand people come thru during both days...not too SHABBY! As always we are glad when they are over, one less thing to get stressed out about!
