Our trip to the Zoo

It was such a wonderful day, weather-wise to go to the zoo. The animals were out and we saw most of them without having to fight too many people to catch a glimpse. I swear, some of the other people that were at the zoo should have been in cages themselves!!

We took the metro from Shady Grove, which for the little kids was an adventure in itself, of course Tony and Uncle Jon told them we changed our minds and were no longer going to the zoo but rather to China, which really got Gabe and Katelynn going!! Lizzy played her gameboy and Sophia just took it all in.

I did not realize this but the zoo is built on the side of a HUGE hill so going in we headed to the very bottom to get something to eat and work our way back up from there, but by the time the day was thru I think us adults were as tired as the kids were!

South Mountain Creamery donated a Holstein cow to the National Zoo and in exchange for our so GENEROUS donation the plaque was to be placed by the cow letting people know that we donated it, so Tony and I were on the look-out for that and we found it!
