Sitting here tonight in front of this computer I am reminising about this years Christmas and how year after year seems to go flying by with no sign of stopping or slowing down in sight. Watching my kids opening gifts today, I felt as though we were just doing this and yet it has been a whole year ago. Gabe has taken on his role of "big brother" getting to open twice as many gifts (when you count in all of Sophia's) since after opening just one or two gifts she was set on just playing quietly on the floor.
Santa brought Gabe a Air Hockey table and the V-smile learning system. Sophia got a new kitchen set and all the accesories to go along with it. Tony and I did not exchange this year, we bought ourselves the new couch back a few months ago and we knew ahead of time that was going to be it.
As always, the kids made out like "bandits"...so many nice toys and clothes, we are so blessed to have our family so near to us, to help make the memories of each passing Christmas that much more special to all of us. I am so very blessed to still have both sets of my Grandparents alive and healthy, and to get to spend Christmas with them is something I hold very close to my heart...in fact my Mom's mom still cooks the entire Christmas dinner for 25 people! She is an amazing woman, I hope to still be so vibrant and full of life when I get to be her age! Tony's parents have come into town for the holidays this year, and it is great for the kids to get to spend quality time with them. Yesturday, Tony's mom helped to make Gingerbread houses and bake the favorite "Fruitcake Cookies." On Friday they treated all of us to the presentation of "The Christmas Carol" at Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.C. which was wonderful! We attended Christmas Eve service with Tony's brother and family last night and it was nice to have the family together for this special service (Mom and Dad Brusco were going to join us to, but Dad came down with a stomach bug of sorts and needed to go home) they were missed.
On Tuesday we will celebrate one more Christmas, with my family, my mom and dad, my brother and his family.
Well, it is pretty much back to the normal grind tomorrow, along with starting to take down all the decorations and find space for all the new stuff we received. It can be quite depressing at times thinking about all the time and effort placed on getting ready for this day for it to end so soon, but on a more positve note, it is a time of new resolutions and time of beginning with the start of the New Year! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all, may God Bless all of you in the coming year, and for those of you reading my wish for the New Year would be to have more of you post a comment and let me know you stopped by, would love to hear from you!
