Well our Fall Harvest Celebration is officially behind us now, with one good day and one total "wash out" day. The weather today was perfect for a fall festival and we did have a good turn-out so we can't be too disappointed! The hayrides and horse and buggy rides along with the corn shucking and ice cream making demos were a huge hit! We all ate way too much food and still have plenty of leftovers for the week ahead!
Tony did alot of tours thru the plant, had alot of customers stop by our sample table and note that they would be adding some new products to their weekly orders, and we sold out of lots of things at our food booth, so all and all I don't think we did too shabby!
We tied Daisy Mae to the back of one of the pick-ups and she got lots of food and attention all day long, if she would only learn to stop jumping up on people we probally could have let her run freely all day, but she still has all that "puppy" energy in her!
Gabe played hard both days riding bikes, taking hayrides, or jumping around on the "hay mountain." On Saturday his pre-school teacher stopped by to see him, and on Sunday he had his cousins and friends stop by as well, all in all he had a great time. Sophia enjoyed 2 days of full attention from the great-grandparents, in fact today she did not even want to come home with me, they just spoil her to pieces when they have her alone!
We had a few surprise visitors stop by today, one is a long time friend of the families from South Carolina that just happened to be in the area this weekend, and another friend of Tony and I's from Baltimore dropped in to see us as well. I think that is my favorite part of these festivals is meeting our customers, and seeing our friends.
I worked the food booth most of the day, and we had most of our store and office employees there helping as well, so we all had a good time joking around and enjoying our time together, in fact we have tentively planned a Halloween and Christmas party just so we can all get together again for some fun outside of work!
