What a joyful day it is, for "Christ the Lord has Risen Today!" (by the way is one of my favorite church hymns). We gave the kids small baskets but did nothing to extravagant...(as it is they ended up with 5 baskets of candy total at the end of the day! From the "Easter Bunny" Gabe and Sophia each got new outfits, a Easter book, and some candy...besides they did not know any different and thought what they received was wonderful.
Tony and I were talking about how we remember Easter as children, and neither of us remember it being over the top as it portrayed today!
We had lunch at my Grandparents house in Middletown, Beck joined us today and gave us all gifts from his country...Mom and I received beautiful scarves in really bright colors, dad and Tony got these traditional hats, and he gave my grandmother this absolutely gorgeous piece of cloth to make something out of...it looks like silk but he wasn't sure what it was.
Gabe played with his cousins MyKenzie and Jaxxon, and Sophia got more than enough loving from everyone including Beck that just LOVES her to pieces! We came home and started the process of packing...(it is much harder this time with 2 little ones under foot)! We did manage to get one room almost completely done and we have a few boxes to spare, so I can do more packing tomorrow.
Sophia is cutting her second tooth, says "ba ba" which means bottle (we figured that out today at lunch), and is almost able to pull herself into a standing position...she is one busy little girl!
Tony and I watched the "Left Behind" and "Signs" movies this weekend. We enjoyed them both but were surprised by how "Sci-Fi" the second movie was...we were not expecting it to be so creepy!
