Sophia has been singing alot these days, especially on Sundays after Sunday school. Her favorite songs to sing are "The Good Samaritan" (sung to the tune of Farmer in the Dell), "Its a Small World", "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes", "Jesus Loves Me", and "Twinkle, Twinkle." My family says that I really started singing around the age of 2, so this is a good sign that she is taking after me with her singing talents! Of course if she sings while out in public places in gains her LOTS of attention and she just THRIVES on attention!
Unlike me, she enjoys playing with Dolls, and pretending she is a mother of many dollies these days. She cares for them by changing their clothes, feeding them, and caring for their many boo-boos (there are band-aids all over the dolls), she always has to bring one with her were ever we may be going and she will tell us that it is crying, or that it hurt its finger or something...the imagination is great!
Today, after Sunday School, she had made a craft about caring for others just like the Good Samartain did in the Bible and she had her Dinosaur with her as we went grocery shopping...about mid-way thru the store she got very upset because the dinosaur hurt his tail and was crying and she needed a band-aid (which apparently was in her craft, which was out in the car) the only thing that would work until we could get to the car was my grocery list (which I really needed but gave up to help the poor dinosaur), once we got to the car she quickley found her craft that just happened to have band-aids and tissue in and she quickley had her friend all bandaged up and was wiping away his tears...soo precious!
While talking with my Mom the other day we were discussing about the different phases children go thru and how quickley the stages change, but the part she said that really got me kindof emotional was the fact about how a stage can just disappear forever, you never know when your child will stop doing something that you found endearing or silly, so it is VERY important to get all these little things written down so that you can be reminded later of all the cute things they did when they were little!
I am reminded right now of something Sophia has not done now for over a week, so this could be gone forever. But she used to LOVE to show her Poppy and Uncle Ben her clothes. First thing every morning when they would come upstairs to the office she would greet them by showing them her shirt or her shoes and the 2 of them would get sucha kick out of it...it got to the point that Uncle Ben would show her his shirt too and they would laugh together.
