"An Ordinary Day with Jesus"...

is the name of the class that Tony and I are taking on Wednesday nights for the next 10 weeks as part of our Spring Bible Study thru our church. We learned last night that we need a good night's sleep in order to break the barriers of fatigue in our prayer and spiritual growth. OK, sounds easy enough...we are to go on living as we normally do, go about or normal day-to-day activities but "pretend" that Jesus is right beside us at all times (well he is really but this is more of in a physical sense)...well to me that would be VERY stressful, I mean I am human I am imperfect, but their is certainly room for improvement, right? One of my BIG areas for improvement would be with worrying and this quote sums it all up for me...it is almost comical how true this really is!

Do not worry about tomorrow,
for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of it's own. (Matthew 6:34)
or this one that reminds me that I am suppose to give all my worries to him...
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. (Matthew 11:28)

So, this morning upon waking up I remembered to thank God for his gift of sleep and asked him to help me be more like him throughout my day...I was feeling really good...that is until I got to the office and took one of the first calls of the day...the customer was upset because the driver parked in her driveway (GOODNESS, the thought of that...what exactly is a driveway for if not to park in?), apparently it is cobblestone and our truck tires would just RUIN it...then she proceeds to go on and say that she is tired of our "stupid driver" walking thru her perfectly manicured lawn (again I was thinking HELLO it is like the 3rd week of March most of us don't even have yards yet, let alone ones that are perfectly manicured!) I informed her that I had no notes indicating that he was NOT to park in her driveway nor avoid her grass (after all we have been delivering to her home since December), she kept going on and on about how unprofessional we were and so I finally said to her, " you know it sounds as though you really don't need the aggravation of our delivery service, I will cancel your account immediately, and simply said good-bye"...I think I took her off guard...not sure if that would have been what Jesus would have done, but by that time my blood was boiling and it is lucky I didn't say something else!

Another call of interest today was one from a customer who got her delivery yesterday and had left this strange message on our voicemail stating that her babysitter forgot to bring the order inside so she no longer wanted it, she was not paying for it, and she wanted us to come back and pick it up today because she simply did not have the time to deal with dumping it all out! I was thinking...it certainly is not our problem that your sitter was not taking responsibility for the delivery that YOU ordered. My assistant called her back and informed her of this, saying we would be happy to pick everything up next Wednesday on her normal delivery day. According to the babysitter, she is simply too busy to be watching for a delivery ALL day, she has 2 children to watch and if we can't be there by 10:00 am then we should not come at all! It makes you wonder how these people can actively function!

The day thankfully ended on a more happy note, with me signing up 6 new accounts and helping yet another customer understand how our new website works. Here's to a better tomorrow!
