All the guys attended a Father/Son banquet tonight in Burkittsville, so Mom decided all of us "girls" should have some fun too!
I made a quick dinner and we sat around playing Parcheesie and then Jenga. Kate had to teach Mom and I how to play the Parcheesie game and Mom had never played Jenga so I think we all had a nice relaxing evening at home!
Sophia and Nicole (Kate's niece) played so nicely in her room that we almost forgot we had 2 little ones in the house too. They played Barbies and with Sophia's Dora Magic Castle (which I think otherwise has been played with one time since Christmas!)
As I was putting dinner on the table the fire alarm would go off every single time I would open the oven (I think I need to run the self-cleaner here soon), so the running joke was that dinner must be ready! Nicole chimmed in and said it happens at her house all the time when her mom makes these "old-fashion sandwiches that have butter, salt and pepper on them and then get squished in a bowl and then burned in the oven before serving" (Nicole is 5 and has a very active imagination) it made all of us laugh!
