Poor, poor Sophia...

Today was the BIG day at the doctors for both the kids' annual check-ups. Gabriel got off rather easy, only having to answer a few questions, draw some pictures and read the eye chart. Sophia on the other hand got enough pricks, pokes and bruises for everyone.

She was in need of 2 vaccinations and apparently there is now concern over Hepatitus A (which can be contracted thru eating at restuarants where employees caring teh disease could spread it to the food if they don't wash their hands properly), so now it is a new standard that children 2 years and under can now be given that shot as well. So I decided to go ahead with that one and then after they did that the nurses informed me they needed to do lead testing again (she had it done a year ago when Gabe had his done to attend pre-school) so we had to go and hold her down for the nurses to draw blood...my poor little girl! She did rather well and wanted to hold Gabriel's hand and the crying did not last long after the ordeal was thru. The nurses handed out lots of stickers and colorful bandaids to help ease the pain.

Also, while sitting back in the office waiting for her turn to be the "center" of Dr. Gessert's attention she fell off a chair and bruised the side of her face by her eye!

My intention was to take the kids swimming at my cousins' house afterwards, and we drove there but in the five minutes it took she was out COLD...both Gabe and I both tried to wake her up, so she slept in the car and Gabe and I went swimming...
