Trip to the Pumpkin Patch....

Yesturday Gabriel's pre-school class took a field trip to the local pumpkin patch. My mom went along with us and helped me with Sophia. Gabe was all excited about getting to pick the "bestest pumpkin" and getting to pet the animals (which we found a bit odd, since of course we have all the same animals at our own farm and he never bothers petting them there!)

I dressed Sophia in her last year's Halloween Costume (just an orange pant suit that makes her look like a pumpkin) and realized it was a bit too short this year, and it would be the last time she could wear it. But it was so worth it with all the compliments she got for being dressed so cute to go to a pumpkin patch!

It started out with a hayride to a small corn maze, which put us out into a small pumpkin patch. The 30 little children ran around each looking for what they considered the "perfect pumpkin" then we got back on the hayride and headed back to the main building for snacks and playtime. Gabe seemed to have a good time but was very cautious of his every move...almost as though he did not want to do anything wrong in front of his teachers.

The one teacher did approach Mom and I and just gushed on and on about how wonderful Gabe is, how smart and polite he is and how he is her favorite student this year, of course it was nice to hear all of these things but she kindof did it in front of other parents which made Mom and I feel a bit uncomfortable. Of course I am so proud of him, but I don't want other mothers or worse Gabe's friends to treat him differently because they think he is favored!

So now we are on the way to being ready for Fall and Halloween, we have enough pumpkins to decorate, but the kids still need to pick out their costumes and figure out where we are going to go "trick or treating."
