A time for change....

This event has been a long time coming I am afraid. Tony had finally decided it was time to let our office assistant go today. She had been with South Mountain Creamery for almost 3 years, but it had gotten to the point we could no longer trust her, and she was in a very trusted position. The most recent problem that we have had with her is her using the internet from her computer after Tony specifically told her NOT too, because he is unsure of his firewalls and such and did not want a potential virus taking down the network he has spent countless hours building himself, she of course does not think of these things she is a very selfish person and is only after her own needs. It wasn't but a few weeks ago he was having a similar conversation with her about her work ethic and such and she was going to improve herself...funny how her improvement skills are lacking! She was no longer going to let her personal life interfere with work, but about a week after they had that conversation she was back text messaging on her cell phone and taking personal calls when they came in...funny how long THAT lasted!

I feel really sad for her, as I think she will have a hard time finding something else, her only skills are those from our company and the programs we use are not wide spread. She has a lot of personal issues that other companies will frown upon, and of course she has her 1 year old child to worry about. Tony and I talked at length last night and he hopes maybe this will be the "kick in the pants" she needed to walk away from the life she has been living to find something more positive for herself and her son. The drugs, sex, alcohol and lies are not good for either of them!

After seeing Tony finally fire Beth, my parents fired the one farm-hand that they had been complaining about for the last month, I guess Tony had to make the first move, but the farm and creamery are experiencing some MAJOR changes currently and hopefully they will be for the best!
