Meanwhile, on Saturday night, we celebrated Gabe's 4th birthday, we had a house full of family and it rained on and off, but nothing too bad until around 10:00 pm another storm came thro and this time our home got an indirect hit, and we lost our tv, our surround sound, the modem and speakers to the computer and the WORST part was we also lost the a/c! With the second storm we got 4 inches of rain and early Sunday morning we got a phone call from my mom, saying that the entire creamery had flooded, so first thing Sunday morning we awoke and went over to start the cleaning up process of mud and bugs from inside the creamery...what a total NIGHTMARE! Tony and I managed to get the store, and employee lounge cleaned and mopped and he got the driveway fixed before heading off to church. We also tried to contact an a/c place to see if we could get that repaired and no luck with it being on a Sunday!
Sunday afternoon we took Gabe to Chuck E Cheese in Frederick and met up with one of his friends from the old neighborhood as well as Jon, Michelle, Eliabeth and Katelyn, they played together for an hour or so and then we headed out to buy new stuff for the house. Later that afternoon we came home to a very hot house and were pretty miserable all night long. Tony vowed that if they could not get the a/c fixed on Monday then we would have to go and sleep in a hotel, he was not going to bed all sweaty 2 nights in a row!
First thing Monday morning, I called around to a/c places and managed to find someone that could come that day, so instead of having my good friend Becky and the kids suffering inthe heat I took them over to Grandma's until the repair man was able to come. Ends up that the entire electrical board is fried and he will have to order the parts ($450), so he is able to get the a/c running continuously until they call us back to say the part is in, so at least now the house will be cool again!
We figured up between all the damage between our house and the creamery, and the farm we will probally be making a claim to the insurance companies in excess of $10,000!! It is totally unbelievable and frustrating to have to go thro this year after year! Usually, the creamery gets hit in June, this year it was late and we were feeling like we had missed the bullet. (June 13, 2002, then June 12, 2003 then June 15, 2004 and this year July 15, 2005!!!)
As of yesturday (Wednesday, the 20th), our phones and computers are back up and running at the creamery, and almost everything is working here at the house, so life is moving forward now!
