This trip may be part of the reason I do not like to run errands alone...even if it is only 4 miles to town!
It was hot and we were tired from helping with the afternoon calf feeding chores at the creamery, and Tony wanted BLT's for dinner and we did not have any of the "L' or "T" so I needed to run to town.
I get everyone loaded in the car, juice cups, diaper bag, toys, blankets...the whole nine yards (no wonder I never go anywhere with out Tony...too much work!) anyway we get about 2 miles from town and Gabe says he is going to throw-up, oh-no he should not have had chocolate milk in his cup, he was too hot and the milk upset his stomach (totally MY FAULT!), so I quickly look around the car for something he can throw-up in and hope in the back of my mind that it is just a false alarm and he will be able to burp and feel better...well, we had no such luck today. I needed to fuel up the van so we stopped at a gas station in town and just as I start to fill up the car, Gabe starts screaming out in pain and throws up (in the cup, THANK GOD!), so I quickly try to get him out of the car, meanwhile trying not to throw-up myself, he throws up again all over my feet and his feet, the lady at the next pump offers no assistance, I quickly try to find something to wipe us off with and I am so glad that I brought Sophia's entire diaper bag along! So now the car is fueled up but I still need to go inside to pay, the girl behind the counter looks as though she is on a personal call, so I call out to her that I need to go, my child is throwing up in the parking lot, I go back outside after paying and Gabe says he feels much better, I throw the tupperware cup into the trash and pray that we can just get to the grocery store and back with no other incidents.
We arrive at the grocery store, and Gabe is out...completely ASLEEP...what do I do now?? I get Sophia out, attempt to awaken Gabe who is crying and upset...all this for lettuce and tomato mind you!! We get inside, I drop the tomatoes and the lettuce before getting them into the stupid plastic baggies...again there are people around, but no one offers to help! We somehow manage to get back home with no future excitement...I sure hope these BLT's were worth all the aggravation!
