Like brother...like sister...

Well, now that Sophia has recently turned one, we anxiously waited to see if she would continue to want her bottle or get rid of it as her brother did soon after he turned one. It turns out that sometime this past Tuesday evening while on her first "pajama party" (as her great grandmother calls it) away from home for the night, they realize the bottle they brought with them has a bad nipple that leaks really bad, so they throw it away...having nothing else to offer Sophia but her sippy cup, she obilges and pretty much that is the story. She gave it up!

Her brothers' story is quite similar in the fact that he threw his bottle out the window while we were on a long car drive and never asked for his again either.

Are we just lucky? I am supposing so, since there are so many parents out there (upon watching SuperNanny and Nanny 911, and even relatives children) that still have their children on bottles at ages of 3 and up, to me it is plain silly, but maybe my children are just not the norm. Maybe they don't need the security of the bottle because they know they live in a household that is secure and loves them, with 2 loving parents, and lots of other loving family nearby. Whatever it is, I am glad I don't have to worry about the bottles any longer...my trouble now is keeping Sophia from snitching Gabe's sippy cup and drinking all of his chocolate milk!
