A day like we had today is exactly the reason why we wanted to make the move to the farm! What memories our children will have (or at least I hope they remember them)
The day started with the entire family attending church together and then we stayed after for Sunday school. There is something about sitting together in a church setting, all praising God together that just fills me with such JOY, I can't explain it any other way, it is just an ideal way to start off a Sunday morning!
After that we came home and I started making lunch for friends that we were having over, Tony and Gabe headed out to get the lawn mower to mow the yard (which really is not that HORRIBLE of a job anymore since we can ride versus pushing, and we are actually starting to get SOME grass), our friends arrived and we had a nice visit with them, it sure was nice to see them again! Sometime later in the afternoon my cousin and his family arrived and stopped in to visit, and then headed down to the farm to set-up for our "customer appreciation night" we were having at the creamery. We had hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill, played football together, rode the hayride, made fools of ourselves on the karaoke machine and just sat around together reminiscing and chatting about all the activities our children were attending this summer, and learning about the customers and their families. Sophia was more than content with all the attention, Daisy Mae had a ball playing in the ice coolers and harassing the other dogs that came by! Gabe rode bikes with his cousins and then made new friends with the customers' kids that stopped by. A photographer from Frederick Magazine stopped by and took a family picture and apparently will be running a story about us in an upcoming issue. Before we knew it it was almost 8:00 (way past the kids' bedtimes) and they were covered head to toe in dirt, but at this point who cares, because the memories will hopefully last much longer than it took me to give them their baths!
